Application Support:
How can the NIHR Colorectal Therapies Healthcare Technologies Cooperative (soon to be NIHR Surgical MedTech Cooperative covering colorectal, hepatopancreaticobiliary and vascular surgery) add value to your application?
- Provision of a clinical partner – It is strongly advised that you demonstrate an existing relationship with a named clinician or similar expert at the time of application. Our organisation has a track record of working in surgical technologies feasibility and prototype development, and we also have access to academic expertise to help on some of your key technical challenges.
- Advice regarding novelty of innovation – as we interact with a wide range of innovators, we can advise on the novelty of your idea and support discussions to develop this further.
- Address patient problems and needs – we have an extensive network of patients and the public involved in our work, and they can provide an insight into their nature of the issues they face, and what they expect from an innovation in this area. Likewise, our clinician network can also provide an insight into the challenges they face in surgery, and we can facilitate meetings and visits.
- Project management – we can advise on certain aspects of the project plan, project team and manage the project should it be successful in securing funding.
- Access to advice – we have access to teams that can provide commercialisation, market access, health economics and route to market advice
Please contact NIHR Colorectal Therapies HTC Programme Manager, Vee Mapunde, to discuss your application.
