MedIAN events coming in 2018
The Christmas holiday season is just around the corner, and with it a chance to look forward to next year

Early-career researchers tackling brain MRI challenges at the inaugural MedIAN CodeFest held in September 2017.
Here at MedIAN we have been putting together our programme of activities for 2018 with collaboration, skills, and networking in mind.
In March we will have a 2-day Mini Sandpit for early-career researchers – with challenges focusing on collaboration and innovation skills, and a prize for the winning team.
We also have an Open Data conference in preparation, which will look at current challenges in Open Data healthcare data science, seek to identify solutions, and take in some lessons learned from previous success stories.
On the 23rd April we are running a Clinicians & Academics Knowledge Exchange joint event with the NIHR Cardiovascular MIC (formerly the Cardiovascular HTC) at King’s College London – bringing together clinicians and academics to identify clinical needs and potential solutions. We will also be joined by SmartHeart to hear about their successful collaboration.
In May, we will be at the CMIH Academic Conference talking about Deep Learning following this up with a Careers Fair with our MedIAN industry members. July will see MedIAN Sponsor MIUA 2018 in Southampton with Prof. Alison Noble (MedIAN committee member) providing one of the keynote talks. Finally in October we will be running our successful CodeFest again as a two day residential workshop (here’s what happened last time around).
